Maybe this would be more appropriate for an Adult Sunday School series on faith + science, moreso than from the pulpit

These conversations are so difficult because so few people are well-trained in both theology/biblical studies AND science/quantum physics. Alister McGrath comes to mind, but there aren’t enough interdisciplinary researchers in this field.

I wonder if this science really has ramifications for our theology of agape love or not. While the science might give a physical/mechanistic explanation of love, I’m not sure this challenges/affects our theology of what love is as Christians.

That’s a good distinction Aiden. God’s love is categorically different than human love independent of God’s love

Good observation, this helpfully gets at the fact that even science involves presuppositions/non-empirical assumptions

I think Aquinas/RCs would largely agree; nature can reveal that there is a creator, but only revelation can reveal the unique identity of that creator as trinity

Very interesting article. I wonder if the brain studies could be viewed as descriptive (this is what happens in the brain when free will is operative in decision-making), rather than prescriptive (this naturalistic brain process determines how one will choose)? If so, that would seem to change the terms of the debate

I appreciate the depth of Scripture listed in the theology section. The Psalms play off of one another so well on the topic of forgiveness, and really speak to the human heart.

This is an interesting way of typologizing barriers to forgiveness. I wonder which of these three “bitterness” would fall under? That was the first one that can to my mind when I thought of barriers to forgiveness
